The main function
of the Group is to make a
photographic record of, and assemble factual
information about, buildings and other features of the environment in the
City of Nottingham which are of significant architectural or other interest.
The Group is particularly concerned with structures which have been or are
about to be subjected to redevelopment, change of use or demolition.
Once this material has been assembled, the Group aims to make it available to a wider public by exhibitions, displays, publication and through deposit in the Nottinghamshire Archive office.
In 2000 the Group was invited to participate in the "Tales of the City" exhibition at the Castle Museum & Art Gallery, supplying contemporary photographs to sit alongside illustrations from the early part of the 20th century by Thomas William Hammond.
