REFURBISHMENT OF THE
VICTORIA CLUB

The work to the front elevation included the rebuilding of a 20ft high chimney stack, repairing masonry, cleaning masonry with a range of treatments including nebulised sprays, chemicals and the Joss system. Windows were repaired, damaged cast iron rainwater goods were replaced and the tops of the cornices were re-leaded.

The building was designed by Robert Evans as the Imperial Insurance Building, Victoria Street 1869-70. It was substantially altered into the Reform Club by W.B. Starr and E. Hall in 1913. Two doorways were replaced by one and an accommodation floor was added.
